Dear all, hereby an update since a long time. In Denmark last year, we received four confirmations to go to Spain. A new and different direction than we had in mind. It was hard (especially for me, Marianne) to change our (self-made) plans. We want to be obedient to God, and this felt really like a test if we are indeed willing to be obedient. To wipe our ideas and to go where He wants us to go. We try to travel like this since the beginning, but we never had to change our direction this extreme. Most of the times we just felt a direction and we got confirmed in that direction. This was a new thing and a big lesson in obedience to God and trusting in Him.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight.“
Proverbs 3: 5 – 6 NIV
We went to Spain. We were asked to help with a disciple house project. In the end it turned out different than we expected. We committed to the Lord to stay 3 months in Spain. It must be said that we wanted to travel back many times, because the time in Spain was not easy. We lived together with different lovely families in Christ. The living together part was challenging and even exhausting. We never prayed so much together (Jeffrey and I) in that time, and we must say this period was really a growing time for our marriage together with God. We learned to pray first. Problem? Pray. Irritation? Pray. Conflicts? Pray.
The power of prayer is something we can underestimate. Most of the times we pray as a last resort, but it needs to be the first respond in every situation. Prayer is our weapon. Because we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the enemy.
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.“
Ephesians 6:16 NLT
So, we learned to pray 😉 and we saw a growth in our marriage. Thank God for this!
We are doing good, praise God. We are currently in the Netherlands and trying to see as many people as possible. The kids enjoyed swimming lessons and are happy to see family and friends.
We are praying together about “what next”. We have a direction in mind, but as you can see above, it can always change. Our desire is to stay flexible for Gods Kingdom on earth, but also, we want to get some more stability. Feel free to pray along with us. It is hard sometimes to lay down our own wishes. Lately I repeat this; let me want, what You want. Let Your will, be my will. So, even when we don’t want something yet, we can pray that our hearts will change and come in line with what God is asking from us.
Let me want, what You want. Let Your will, be my will.
Thank you for following us. Do you want to know more about what we believe? Check “we love Jesus”. Feel free to contact us, we try to respond always.
